Jew York (why I want to be a Jew in NYC)

wanted: NEW YORK
i want to be a Jew in New York
i am in exile
'what is this fetid life?'
it is not being a Jew in New York

New York lost me
New York you already got me
now i need to get New York
New York is lost
but I already got New York
you see: complicated
I believe in New York
I become New York
New York believes
New York becomes

New York you are tall and shiny
i am soft and little - we would work well together
i make lots of plans in your embrace
i repay you for your love
i would eat bagel
your smooth roar would be like bagel to me

envelop me please. that is nice. i trust your glass windows.
they are hard and serious and many. don't devour my hope
and spit out the pip - my coldstore heart. i am much
better steeped in your liquor. then my potency is greater. then
i can sing out of tune to the world like the tail of the cat.
