Guide to Blue Waterholes and the Cooleman Plain

Kosciusko National Park, NSW, Australia.

Introduction

The Cooleman plain area is one of the most interesting remote areas of Australia's high country. A large alpine frost hollow located in the northern area of the Kosciusko National Park, the Cooleman plain has lots of interesting features that have made it a quite special place for many people.

It is an area of rolling subalpine grasslands, deep limestone gorges, and peaceful alpine woodland. People come to cave, fish, walk or just relax beside the tranquil burbling streams. It is one of my favourite places, and I have camped there many times.

So, in order to help people make the most of their visit, I've designed this wee guide. The guide includes a handy map of the area, and descriptions of all the interesting features of the area (that I've been to). There are also pages which describe many of the caves in detail , and outline access to the area. I hope you find it useful! :-)
