An Evil Night

downed hemisphere of orange
then the music and the magic started
turning over me into thought words disconnected but real
true lover of every living thing

all night, we three
the guy the girl and me
drove so far to see the sea
from upon the colden concreteness we sat
to lap the watching of the tides
and happily we sat to watch
the golden blackness lapping to our ecstasy

I held and loved her then
but the present's cold reality
witnesses the end of all that
gorgeous truth - to love and be that we despised!

the trunks of coloured plaster meld to birth another earth
and we to mould it with our foolishness!
