Welcome to P\u03bbosm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1185\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/plosm3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"217\" \/><\/p>\n<p>P\u03bbosm is a philosophy that attempts to incorporate unknowable truths without being anti-science. Its symbol is the five petalled flower, which in turn represents the human hand, and the five letters of P\u03bbosm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/?p=1508\"><strong>P<\/strong><\/a> stands for Path, or Pada, through which is found Peace. This is the grounding\u2014for we walk the path with science and muse in balance, that is the path of P\u03bbosm. And the flower of this path is Poetry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/?p=1516\"><strong>\u039b<\/strong><\/a>\u2014greek L\u2014stands for Logic or \u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2, which is a kind of word or story or argument. It represents the working of reason through logical argument. It also represents a narrative of a particular reality, which needs language to exist.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/?p=1524\"><strong>O<\/strong><\/a> represents Ouroboros, the serpent eating its tail, and the unknowable &#8216;mu&#8217;. And it represents a planetary sphere, for us this is the Earth\u2014Gaia in fact.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/?p=1528\"><strong>S<\/strong><\/a> represents Science\u2014scientists strive towards the unknown but keep their feet on the ground of reason. They reveal the laws of the universe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forkword.com\/plog\/?p=1534\"><strong>M<\/strong><\/a> represents the Muses, music, movement\u2014all the arts\u2014and the beauty that follows. This is an essential ingredient in any philosophy of living.<\/p>\n<p>All of these things come together within the human being, and bringing these into harmony is the way of P\u03bbosm. P\u03bbosm attempts to unite a scientific or rational view of life with a religious or spiritual one, without being self contradictory\u2014or rather, it embraces the contradictions, which only exist if seen through an particular prism, but vanish when all views are taken as equal.<\/p>\n<p>I am still working out the theology of P\u03bbosm in these pages and in my life. It is a work in progress and I am adding to it and modifying it as inspiration comes to me.
