Not only this

My love of david Berman continues, as i sift through the riches of his old blog, menthol mountains and his reddit history. I feel like i’m following a trail of literary crumbs, among the broken bottles and party hats, long after the party has gone quiet. I keep missing the party. Just this morning watching a Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds concert at Brixton Academy in 2004 – when i was living just down the road. I never went to the Academy, though I liked to go to a little italian cafe ‘San Marino’ just nearby in my lunchbreaks when I worked at Brixton wholefoods. What was my excuse? too poor for tickets i suppose.. too busy getting married. But I am not missing everything any more, simply by making music myself and putting it out there and listening to what’s going on i am finding now i’m hearing about exciting music before it gets big. It’s strange it took me a long time to get out of my own sort of bedroom and notice things happening around me.

Well i got out recently and recorded a new song and even went out to Iandra Castle for a cover pic – it’s going to be released in a few weeks it’s called “Fire the Fox”. I’ll post a link here when it’s live but just for now here’s a peek:

This references one of the lyrics in the song. Here’s an earlier demo of it.  I’m playing at Smith’s alternative again this coming Monday the 5th May alongside Hashemoto who I interviewed for BMA magazine years and years ago ! Isn’t that cool!
